These data guide a wide range of decisions made in the public and private sectors that affect the lives of Latinos and all American families and their children. The data help ensure fair and representative reapportionment and redistricting for Latino communities. Census data play an indispensable role in revealing persistent disparities rooted in historic discrimination premised on race and ethnicity, and enabling efforts to eliminate those disparities. They are used to allocate more than $1.5 trillion in federal, state and local funding.
